Proper Ettiquette When Logged Into Infinite Journey

Aid Your Fellow Players

With this being a new and expanding theme, any new players may feel a little lost and may seek help from the player base. Though the creators or staff will attempt to be there when possible to help, if someone comes up with a question on, for example, the Public channel please do not grief them. At least, unless the answer is completely obvious and/or able to be answered if they just read the wiki.

Multiplay and Alt Interaction

It is perfectly fine if you create more than one character on the grid, but there are a few rules that will apply when this is done:

• No alt interaction.

This means that your CharacterA may not mingle with your CharacterB by any means whatsoever. It is fine if your characters happen to have the same circle of friends, but it is not fine for your alts to meet/converse/fight one another.

• Alts may not be in the same area/city.

When roleplaying it is not allowed to have your alts in the same city and/or area. For example, if your character is currently in Tioka, an alt may not be in the same city even if they happen to be in a different room of that same city. This creates a higher probability of character interaction which is prohibited.

• Alts may not live in the same city.

As explained previously, both alt interaction and alt co-habitation of the same area is prohibited, so you will not be granted the ability to make a home for your character if one of your alts already lives in that city and/or area.

"Twinking" is Prohibited

Defined as 'providing your character (or those of others) with immense power and/or knowledge that they would in no way be able to achieve at their level' is not allowed on this muck. It's perfectly alright to help out new players, but anyone seen/heard that is abusing their abilities will be reprimanded, it doesn't matter who you are.

Grammar and Spelling Tips

The dreaded typo-gremlin has plagued us all, at one point in time, so this isn't necessarily a problem. It becomes a problem when you misspell every other word, ignore proper punctuation or refuse to capitalize the beginning of your sentences! Internet shorthand should be avoided; things such as 'kthxbai' or 'U R kewl' will result in a warning and will be asked to be stopped. Spell out your words, it doesn't hurt to take the time to do so!

Channel Abuse

Do not spam the channels just to see if people are active. The Public channel is there if you have something to say, poking or making noises to gain attention will result (if done too often) a temporary muting of your channel priviledges.

XXX Channel

This chat channel is reserved for the posting of pornographic links to art, stories and etc. It is not there to spread 'shock' or 'gore' to those on the grid, not everyone appreciates seeing a kitten being stomped into a bloody mush. Be considerate to your fellow players, if you're going to post something that has questionable content, please warn the channel before linking the image.

Rules on Abuse

• Player Abuse

Abusing other players is strictly prohibited! No ifs, ands or buts, it will not be tolerated in any way, shape or form. If you are being abused by another player log the conversation and show it to either a Wizard or one of the Creators. Make sure the log is not incomplete, it will not help the situation at all if you neglect to show both sides of the argument, it may in fact put you in a bad light as well as the person who is being abusive. Once the situation is put in the hands of those in charge it will be kept as quiet as possible, and if need be, it may in fact be used as an example of what not to do on the muck if the situation is severe enough.

• Abuse by Wizards

If you feel you are being abused by a Wizard then you will need to provide a full, coherent statement as to the how and why you feel you are being abused. If there is a log of the situation, please provide that along with your statement to the Creators. If they are not available please state your claims to another Wizard and then it will be dealt with quietly. We're not big on gossip, so unless there is a lesson to be learned here, noone will likely hear about it otherwise.

• Abuse by the Creators

Does the term 'Too bad?' work for you? This muck was created by two people; Derora and Gebura. If you feel Derora is abusing you in some way or fashion, please bring your complaints to Gebura. Derora may be given a spanking if the complaint has any merit and you will be told 'Don't like it? Don't play.' If you feel Gebura is abusing you, you may bring your complaints to Derora and then will be told to leave. You may also bring your complaints to any of the Wizards and then be told to leave faster or, if you're lucky, they may be able to convince either Creator of the problem having merit.

• Sexual Harrasment

In this day and age it is too easy to claim this on just anyone, but if you feel you are being sexually harrassed by another player/Wizard please inform one of the other Wizards or the Creators immediately. Just like player abuse this will not be tolerated in any shape or form. If you have a log of the incident, supply this to the Wizard/Creator you are speaking with. The person will be informed and banned promptly. Please do not abuse this power when a lewd joke/statement is made in jest, you will be reprimanded immediately.

• Racism

This will not be tolerated in any way ever. You will be given one warning to stop your behavior, the next time you do it you will be banned. 'Jokes' made on the public channel of this fashion is prohibited! One exception will be posting the 'joke' on the XXX with the consent of all connected to said channel at that time, otherwise, don't do it.
